Finance Director / Town Accountant – Oxford, MA

The Town of Oxford is seeking applications for a full-time Finance Director / Town Accountant.
The Finance Director shall work under the general supervision of the Town Manager to direct all of the financial activities of the town. The Finance Director assists the Town Manager preparing the annual budget and capital plan. The Finance Director shall be responsible to review work related to account records keeping, billings and collections; prepare specialized financial analysis reports and recommendations, determine and prepare debt management and investment schedules, prepare bond payment schedules. The Finance Director shall be the principal staff who works to prepare the Town for bond rating agency review. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important.
The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of the budget process; extensive knowledge of municipal finance and accounting; organize and supervise the work of a municipal finance department, overseeing the Treasurer’s Office, Information Technology and the Assessor’s Office. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, department officials, advisory boards, auditors, and other contractors.
The Finance Director shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with a special emphasis in accounting, finance, and business administration or a related field. A graduate degree is preferred. Annual pay range is $85,000 to $110,000 dependent upon qualifications.
